“Days of Our Lives” star Robert Kelker-Kelly died of arteriosclerotic heart disease, the regional medical examiner’s office in St. Charles, Missouri, confirmed to Page Six on Thursday.
Kelker-Kelly, 62, was found unconscious and not breathing on October 3 after reportedly experiencing chest pain.
First responders were dispatched to the actor’s home around 8:16 p.m. to reports that an adult male had suffered cardiac arrest, according to Kyle Gaines, division chief and public information officer for the St. Charles County Ambulance District.
Paramedics and other emergency personnel rushed to the home and attempted to resuscitate Kelker-Kelly using advanced life-saving measures.
A 911 recording obtained by Page Six captured the desperate efforts to save the actor’s life, with one caller reporting that Kelker-Kelly was unresponsive and emergency personnel were working to get him out of his bed.
Police and paramedics finally pronounced the actor dead at the scene.
Authorities noted that there was nothing suspicious about Kelker-Kelly’s death at the time of her death.
Kelker-Kelly was best known for playing Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives” from 1992 to 1995.
He took over for Peter Reckell and appeared in other daytime dramas, including “General Hospital” and “Another World.”
The actor also made headlines earlier this year after former “Days of Our Lives” co-star Lisa Rinna accused him of being “Hollywood’s biggest bully” in her recently released memoir, “You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It.”
Rinna alleged that Kelker-Kelly was verbally abusive, manipulative and played mind games with her while they worked on the soap opera together. Kelker-Kelly has never publicly responded to her allegations.
The actor then moved away from Hollywood and pursued a career as a professional pilot while also working as an acting coach.
Kelker-Kelly was married to actress Miriam Parrish from 1997 until their divorce in 2013.
He is survived by their daughter, Amelia Rose Kelly.
