These days, shopping for groceries, especially in the snack aisle, can seem tedious. There are so many brands to choose from, each with their own set of signature flavors. Because many flavors can seem overdone, it’s easy to return again and again to your tried-and-true chips or cheese crackers. However, when you notice something truly unique in the snack aisle, it may compel you to immediately free up some pantry space.
Doritos has always been a leading innovator in the chip aisle, from its “Collisions” mashup flavors (including the latest Late Night Loaded Taco and Chimichurri Lime) to its protein chips. Now, Doritos is launching a one-of-a-kind chip flavor that has fans counting down the days until it hits store shelves.

Doritos is launching an all-new Lemon Pepper flavor in 2027.
The tangy, peppery flavor profile dates back to Atlanta, where lemon pepper chicken wings were popularized. Today, lemon pepper wings are a favorite at many restaurants and fast food chains across the country, including Wingstop and Zaxbys.
Doritos has already created a few wing sauce-inspired flavors, like its Blazin’ Buffalo & Ranch and Ultimate Garlic Parm chips. And now, for the first time ever, it’s bringing the Atlanta favorite to the snack aisle.
New Doritos Lemon Pepper Chips are a flavorful blend of zesty lemon and black pepper in the classic Doritos crunchy format. Jess Spaulding, senior vice president of marketing at PepsiCo Foods, said the lemon pepper flavor is loved for its “bold, tangy kick” and that they wanted the Doritos to have “bright citrus up front and the pepper develops as you eat.”
The result is a chip that has already amassed some adoring fans, and it’s not even on shelves yet. Doritos launched the new flavor at the 2026 National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Show, but the bags won’t hit shelves until early 2027.
When social media users saw the latest version, they immediately proclaimed, “I need this immediately.” And they weren’t alone. Allrecipes Editor-in-Chief Amanda Favazza and Allrecipes Associate Social Media Director Heather Oldenborg tried the new Lemon Pepper Doritos at NACS, and they agree the flavor is delicious.
“The chip was very lemony, which I really liked, but it also had that signature Doritos spice. I loved that it still tasted like classic corn chips, but with a lemon flavor that you could really taste,” Favazza said.
“The Lemon Pepper Doritos had the perfect amount of lemony citrus with a hint of spice. I have been a regular buyer of the Salsa Verde Doritos, but will switch to these once they become available in stores,” Oldenborg added. “I didn’t remember the launch date and already tried to find them at Walmart this week.”
Although you won’t find them at Walmart yet, with resounding endorsements like these, we’ll be scouring the shelves every week in 2027 until we find them. But when you do, just know that Doritos Lemon Pepper Chips will only be on shelves for a limited time, so be sure to stock up before they’re gone.
