Emily Osment requested an intimacy coordinator due to age gap with her co-star

In the book, via Varietyauthor Jessica Radloff share that Emilie felt uncomfortable with her 11-year age gap with her youngest co-star Montana Jordanso she asked for an intimacy coordinator for their kissing scenes.

When Emilie joined the show, she was 30, while Montana was 18 at the time.

“It made me uncomfortable. It was a baby! A baby with a mullet. So I talked to (producer) Tim Marxand obviously they couldn’t get one so late in the day, but for the later episodes they had one there, because the relationship between them was intensifying,” the actress explained. “It made everything easier to have one there. I think that’s something really important.

“I don’t know if Montana he even knew if he could ask that. Let’s give him the option too. Make him feel comfortable. Emilie added. “And he’s such a nice kid, I think he would just eat up his discomfort. But I love these guys, and I’m really happy that they got to the point where they were able to do that (for us).”

Alex Reidwho directed 36 episodes of Young Sheldonadmits that since there were no sex scenes in the series, they “totally missed the ball” in filming the kissing scenes.

“In between takes, I have a picture of them sitting in that car when we took that picture, and they’re looking in other directions. » Alex said. “I showed it to Emilie and she said, “Yeah, it was so uncomfortable for both of us, because we didn’t know each other.” It wasn’t even about the lack of an intimacy coordinator. It’s just that you have to date someone you just met. Obviously they were able to work that out, and they have great chemistry now, but it was kind of awkward.

Co-creator of the series Steve Molaro added that Emilie had “every right to ask” for the intimacy coordinator and ultimately said “she was comfortable without one.”

After three seasons together on Young Sheldon, Emilie And Montana have since continued to work together and have reprized their characters in their own spin-off, Georgie and Mandy’s first marriagewhich recently began its third season on CBS!
