ESPN’s Greg McElroy has been very accurate with his score predictions for the Vols all season, and he has now made his final score prediction for Tennessee vs. Kentucky.

The Tennessee Volunteers are scheduled to host the Kentucky Wildcats at Neyland Stadium on Saturday in a very important SEC game.

ESPN’s Greg McElroy has been very accurate in predicting the final score of Tennessee’s games this season.

McElroy hasn’t predicted every game, but he’s been pretty close to the ones he has predicted.

It allowed Texas to beat Tennessee 24-20 (Texas won 20-17) and Tennessee to beat Auburn 27-17 (Tennessee won 24-14). McElroy also helped Tennessee beat Georgia Tech 31-20 (the Vols won 45-24…he would have been closer to that one without Daune Morris’ rushing touchdown).

Most recently, McElroy predicted that South Carolina would beat Tennessee 27-24, and that’s exactly what happened.

Greg McElroy makes his final score prediction for Kentucky vs. Tennessee

McElroy made his final score prediction for this weekend’s big game between Kentucky and Tennessee, and he has the Vols escaping with a 28-20 victory.

“(Tennessee’s) best pass rush in FBS against a leaky edge protection (Kentucky) is the only mismatch in this game that Kentucky will have to work around,” McElroy said. “Every sack puts Kentucky behind the chains, and Kentucky’s third-ranked offense is already sort of at the bottom of the FBS before experiencing a rush like this.

“Now Kentucky’s ball security is going to keep this game going for four quarters, but Tennessee’s running game can keep its own third downs short, and Kentucky has struggled (on defense) in third-and-short situations this year. I’m taking Tennessee to win the game 28-20. They’re covering the five and a half (point spread). So we’re under 50.5. But Kentucky has been living on the property line all year. They’ve played some close games and they found a way to win so if they won, I wouldn’t be surprised at all, but I think Tennessee gets it done, I think they cover the numbers there in Knoxville.

Tennessee and Kentucky kick off Saturday at 6:15 p.m. ET at Neyland Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
