FBI raids Beverly Hills mansion linked to billionaire businessman – NBC Los Angeles

Federal authorities executed a search warrant Tuesday morning at a Beverly Hills mansion linked to billionaire businessman Stephen Cloobeck.

Details about the nature of the investigation were not immediately available. An FBI spokesperson confirmed to NBC News that agents were executing a search warrant that remains under seal.

FBI sources told NBCLA that no arrests were expected at the scene Tuesday.

Video taken outside the North Roxbury Drive home showed several FBI agents and yellow caution tape in front of the property.

Cloobeck, who supported former U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell’s bid for governor before allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced against the Democratic politician, turned himself in earlier this year on charges that accuse him of trying to dissuade several witnesses from testifying in the criminal prosecution of his former fiancée, who is accused of stealing from several men she met online. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged Cloobeck in April with three felony counts of attempting to dissuade a witness and one misdemeanor count of making “annoying phone calls,” according to the criminal complaint.

Law enforcement sources confirmed the targets of the alleged calls were witnesses or victims in the prosecution of Cloobeck’s former fiancée, Adva Lavie, a model and social media influencer known online as “Mia Ventura.”

She was charged in November 2025 with eight felonies. A judge dismissed two of the charges at a preliminary hearing, and Lavie pleaded not guilty to the other six counts in April.

The billionaire businessman was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant, accused of attempting to intimidate witnesses in a theft case involving Adva Lavie, his fiancée. Darsha Philips reports for NBC4 News at 11 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

It was not immediately clear whether the arrest warrants were served as part of that investigation or the Swalwell case. NBCLA has reached out to law enforcement officials for more details.

Swalwell withdrew from the gubernatorial race and resigned his House seat after allegations of sexual misconduct earlier this year. Swalwell has denied the accusations.

Cloobeck withdrew his support for Swalwell in April. After the allegations came to light, Cloobeck said Swalwell stayed with him at his Los Angeles-area home.

In August, the FBI searched Swalwell’s Washington, D.C., home and seized an electronic device, according to an official familiar with the matter. The FBI also executed a search warrant and seized Swalwell’s electronic devices that same month at San Francisco International Airport.

Earlier this month, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said its sex crimes unit was considering whether to file charges in a case involving Swalwell.

Swalwell was once a front-runner in the gubernatorial race. His departure paved the way for other Democratic candidates in the June primary election, including Health and Human Services veteran Xavier Becerra, who will face Republican Steve Hilton in the Nov. 3 general election.
