BEVERLY HILLS – Federal authorities raided a California mansion Tuesday morning as part of an investigation into disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell, Democrat of California, Fox News has learned.
Swalwell resigned from Congress and withdrew from the California gubernatorial race earlier this year after facing multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. The FBI raid targeted a mansion in Beverly Hills.
In August, the FBI raided Swalwell’s Washington home and seized his electronic devices at San Francisco International Airport in an operation. The operation was linked to a sexual misconduct investigation, according to sources familiar with the matter. He was neither arrested nor detained.

At least five women, including a former employee, have accused Swalwell of sexual misconduct or rape.
Swalwell also came under renewed scrutiny earlier this week after the White House declassified documents related to an FBI investigation into his relationship with Christine “Fang Fang” Fang, an alleged Chinese intelligence operative. Swalwell told FBI agents that he had “physical relations” with Fang on several occasions, according to declassified FBI documents released Monday by the White House.
Their last sexual encounter was in March 2015, according to Swalwell’s account in FBI records.
The documents were released by the new White House Government Transparency Task Force.

Swalwell was questioned by the FBI first in May 2015 and then in March 2016 regarding his relationship with Fang.
Fang suspected ties to China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS), and his parents were believed to be known agents of Chinese intelligence services.

The former lawmaker left office in April after being threatened with expulsion from the House before his departure. He spent 13 years as a congressman.
“I will fight the serious false allegations made against me,” Swalwell wrote at the time of his resignation. “However, I must take responsibility for the mistakes I made.”
