Figma Shares fell 7% in extended trading after the company reported third-quarter results and guidance that beat Wall Street forecasts.
Here is the company’s performance compared to the LSEG consensus:
- Earnings per share: 10 cents adjusted versus 5 cents expected
- Income: $391.4 million versus $375.8 million expected
Figma’s revenue grew approximately 43% year over year during the quarter, according to a release. The net loss narrowed to $81.3 million, or 15 cents per share, from a loss of $1.10 billion, or $2.72 per share, a year earlier.
The company’s adjusted operating margin of 12% beat the consensus of 6.1% among analysts surveyed by StreetAccount.
Executives raised their forecasts for the full year. Figma now forecasts an operating margin of 11%, up from 9% in August, and revenue of between $1.497 billion and $1.499 billion, up from $1.463 billion to $1.467 billion previously. Analysts surveyed by LSEG expected revenue of $1.471 billion in 2026.
The company sees revenue growth slow to around 33% in the fourth quarter. Analysts surveyed by LSEG forecast growth of 28%.
Figma’s announcement comes a day after popular design software startup Canva announced it would cut 22% of its workforce.
Stocks have fallen about 41% so far in 2026, while the S&P 500 index has gained 12%. Earlier this year, investors expressed concern that artificial intelligence models could pose a competitive risk to Figma. Across much of the software industry, panic around AI has largely subsided as incumbents show persistent growth.
Figma wants to take advantage of the growing adoption of AI to create websites and applications. During the quarter, the company began granting more AI credits to its customers while maintaining pricing.
“That means you’re potentially trading short-term revenue, investing in your customers, and then enabling long-term sustainable growth,” Figma CFO Praveer Melwani told CNBC on Wednesday.
The number of weekly users working at organizations that spend more than $10,000 on Figma and who used AI credits increased by nearly 50% during the quarter, Figma said in the release. The share of work done by the company’s AI model doubled, and the rate of people canceling AI-generated work decreased.
“If there are certain actions we can offer our customers with lower latency, lower cost or similar quality to a third party, we are open to that as well,” Melwani said.
Executives will discuss the results with analysts on a conference call starting at 5 p.m. ET.
