Full 2026 Ballon d’Or voting results revealed after Harry Kane’s historic victory over Mbappé and Yamal

Bayern Munich star Harry Kane won the 2027 Ballon d’Or by a historically narrow margin over Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé.

Kane finished 28 points ahead of Mbappé, according to voting results released Friday.

This is the fourth narrowest margin of victory in Ballon d’Or history, according to L’Equipe.

Voters for the men’s award represent the top 100 nations according to the FIFA rankings. Each voter selects 10 players receiving 15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point in descending order.

Of these 100 voters, 40 voted with Kane in first place, according to L’Équipe. Mbappé was named in first position out of 23 ballots.

Kane was left out of the top ten twice, while Mbappé was not named on three occasions.

Yamal finished 155 points ahead of compatriot Rodri, while the top five was completed by Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi. Yamal received 13 first-place votes, while Rodri received 10 first-place votes, according to L’Équipe.

France Football editor-in-chief Vincent Garcia said he felt Rodri “robbed Lamine of some votes” due to sharing credits for Spain’s victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. José Félix Díaz of Diario AS, a journalist representing Spain, voted for Mbappé as winner over Lamine and Kane.

The women’s Ballon d’Or saw a more definitive victory for London City’s Alexia Putellas, who finished 86 points ahead of her former Barcelona teammate Ewa Pajor in a 50-person vote.
