In addition to coming to Android Auto this week, Personal Intelligence in the Gemini app is also expanding its Google Maps integration.
Personal Intelligence uses your emails, documents, photos, videos and more to personalize Gemini responses without you having to be specific. Since its launch, the connected “Search Services” app has given Gemini access to Search, Maps, Shopping, News and Google Flights and Hotels.
Google Maps integration now extends to your saved searches and places. The specific example presented by Google combines it with calendar access to “give you personalized recommendations for your day.” “I have a list of restaurants I’ve been wanting to try. What’s the best place after my meetings today?” Checks where your last meeting is and finds saved locations nearby.
Personal Intelligence can be enabled from gemini.google.com/personalization-settings.
Meanwhile, following the launch of Gemini 4 Argon, Google is informing AI Ultra subscribers that the new model will “soon replace Deep Think.” You can “switch to Argon when you need deeper reasoning.”
Currently, Gemini 3.1 Pro offers High, Medium, and Low Deep Thinking. This specialized mode of reasoning was last updated in February.
This brief in-app notice doesn’t make it clear whether Deep Think is going away because the underlying Gemini 3.1 Pro model is being retired, or if it’s just the removed mode.
