Germany arrests former intelligence chief in espionage case

The former head of Germany’s foreign intelligence service has been arrested on suspicion of “treacherous espionage,” including attempting to pass state secrets to foreign governments, in what could be the worst security breach to disrupt the agency since the end of the Cold War.
