The New York Giants have made three roster changes as they begin their BYE week.
The Giants placed Tyrone Tracy on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, according to general manager Joe Schoen. The team signed Running back Greg Desrosiers Jr. from the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad as the corresponding roster evolves. Giants also add veteran DL Dean Lowry to their training team.
Tracy suffered a hamstring injury on a 7-yard run with 5:29 left in the second quarter against the Houston Texans. Tracy had played well in an increased role, scoring a touchdown earlier in the game, and that run helping set up a Jameis Winston touchdown run. Tracy’s injury is not considered a long-term injury, but he will be expected to miss the next four weeks.
The Giants will face the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders (Thursday Night Football) and Jacksonville Jaguars during this period.
Desrosiers Jr. is an undrafted free agent rookie from Memphis and is listed at 5-foot-10, 205 pounds. He doesn’t have any standout physical traits, but he had an impressive preseason that was highlighted by a nine-carry, 118-yard, 1-TD performance in the final preseason game. He was an efficient runner in college, averaging 6.2 yards per carry over the previous four years, with averages of 8.1 and 7.4 per carry in 2023 and 2024 (respectively). 2025 was a “down” season and Desrosiers Jr. averaged just 5.7 yards per carry. Desrosiers Jr. is a versatile guard with strengths as a pass catcher as well as a kick returner, which should allow him to contribute immediately on special teams.
