Gypsy Rose Blanchard allegedly stabbed knife into Ken Urker’s headboard

Gypsy Rose Blanchard allegedly stabbed a knife into the headboard of the bed she shared with boyfriend Ken Urker after flying into a jealous rage.

New details about the couple’s relationship — and the fear Urker felt from criticism on social media — emerge more than a week after Urker was found dead inside his Raceland, Louisiana, home on October 1. Although the cause of death has not yet been released, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office said there were no immediate signs of foul play.

According to an incident report provided to Oxygen, the body was discovered near drug paraphernalia, a “brown powdery substance” and a handgun.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard allegedly admits to stabbing knife in headboard during jail call

More than a year before Urker’s death, Blanchard reportedly discussed the couple’s problems in a phone call to her friend Amelia Bird, who was still in prison.

In a recording of the call, obtained by the Daily Mail, Blanchard admitted to becoming angry after discovering a card Urker allegedly wrote to an ex-girlfriend.

Blanchard told her friend in the September 2025 call that after finding the note, she went out and “drank vodka, tequila, rum and whiskey” before returning home to an empty house.

“I’m going to take a knife from the kitchen, and I’m going to this headboard, and I’m stabbing the mother-king headboard and I’m carving ‘wh-e’ into the headboard,” she said on the call.

Blanchard allegedly said she left Urker a note telling him to “sleep with your ‘one and only'” and then smashed a picture frame of them together. She then said she threw the notes they wrote to each other while she was in jail “in the air like money,” according to the appeal.

After cutting a blanket – an act she recorded for social media – she left to go to her parents.

During the call, she told Bird that Urker responded by texting her, “I took pictures of you stabbing the headboard and broken glass” and said he planned to seek sole custody of their daughter Aurora, who was born in December 2024.

She admitted that her violent past could have intensified Urker’s feelings about the incident. Blanchard served prison time for recruiting a former boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mother Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard in 2015.

“There are people close to me who say, ‘You scared him. You know why you were in jail,'” she told Bird on the call, according to the Daily Mail, “but because of my story, it freaks people out. Let’s be real. It freaks people out.”

Oxygen contacted Blanchard’s representatives about the report, but did not receive an immediate response.

Captain Brennan Matherne, public information officer for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, told Oxygen they never received a report about the incident, “nor did we respond to any other calls for service to Urker’s residence other than the incident on October 1, 2026.”

Urker’s sister, Autumn, told the Daily Mail that the couple eventually decided to reconcile. She said she contacted her brother with concerns about the relationship before his death, but Urker brushed them aside.

“I fell on deaf ears,” she said. “I was the problem.”

She said her brother was under more stress in recent months after some prison phone calls began leaking online, causing a rift in her relationship with Blanchard.

She said her brother also felt pressure from trolls on social media, who criticized the relationship, and began sleeping with a gun after receiving “death threats” and being “doxxed.”

As she claimed: “He had to sleep with a gun every night. »

Autumn clarified that her brother didn’t sleep with the gun out of fear of Blanchard, but because of the haters who targeted him online.

Following his death, Blanchard also pointed the finger at social media, saying Urker was the subject of constant criticism from netizens who mocked him for everything from his appearance to his relationship, according to Page Six.

Blanchard – who called Urker “the greatest love story” in a tribute – started an online petition calling for social media platforms to be held accountable for how they handle reports of online harassment.

“Ken’s passing made me determined to turn pain into purpose,” she wrote on Instagram. “I can’t change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening. »

She told People she believed Urker died of a drug overdose.

“I don’t know if it was intentional or not,” she said. “He hasn’t been in a good state of mind lately.”

Although an autopsy was completed on the morning of October 2, Corner said in a statement to Oxygen that “no definitive cause of death” had been determined.

“The case remains pending completion of toxicology testing,” the release continued, “and no further information regarding the cause of death will be available until those results are received and the investigation is completed.”
