Halloween weather is expected to be wet in some parts of the country, but looks set to be warm or dry in most other areas, as parents prepare to lead their children around their neighborhoods on Saturday.
Fortunately, we are not forecasting any major storms for Saturday. But some might have weather-related issues.
National overview
The map below shows where Saturday night’s weather is generally expected to be fine (green dots), may have at least some weather inconvenience to deal with (yellow dots), or might require rain gear or at least a warmer suit (red dots).

Nice Northeast ⭐
High pressure will be under control, so we don’t expect rain or snow. Temperatures should be pleasant by late October standards and winds should not be a problem.
Kids will likely need a warmer suit or jacket if the party extends past sunset, especially in New England. But other than that, don’t worry about the weather Saturday night in the Northeast.

Concerns for the South? 🌧️
While there are no major storms on the weather map, there is a threat of scattered showers and thunderstorms across parts of the South Saturday evening.
The forecast for this region has improved as the week goes on, but there is still a chance for wet weather generally centered over the lower Mississippi Valley and eastern Oklahoma. There are also pockets of showers possible in Florida and southern Georgia.
So remember to take an umbrella with you just in case in these areas on Saturday evening.

Is the Midwest hot, but humid? 🌧️
We couldn’t ask for nicer temperatures for Halloween, with evenings in the 50s and 60s in most areas. The winds won’t be a real headache either.
But there is a threat of showers, and even a rumble of thunder, in parts of South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri.
Light, short-lived showers are also possible in parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
You may want to bring umbrellas or rain jackets for walking around the neighborhood in areas shaded green on the map below.

Wet west, again 🌧️
Unfortunately, in parts of the West, the weather could be less than ideal Saturday night.
Parts of most Western states may have to deal with rain. Again, areas with the best chance of rain are marked in darker green on the map below. Consider bringing at least umbrellas and rain jackets for treats in these areas.
And in parts of the Sierra Nevada, it could fall as snow.
Clouds and precipitation will also keep temperatures a little cooler than usual for Halloween in most areas, including areas not shown in green below.
So, especially in the Northwest, even if it doesn’t rain or snow, you may want to choose a warmer Halloween costume for your kids this year.
By the way, it seems likely that San Diego will experience its first measurable rain on Halloween in 39 years.
