“He’s a cabinet secretary!” » Reporter attacks RFK Jr. as he tries to stop questions about measles deaths

A member of the press attacked an aide to the secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Thursday when she tried to stop him from asking a question about measles deaths.

After a roundtable discussion on health care in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Kennedy was joined by Rep. Jennifer Kiggans (R-VA) to answer questions from the press. At one point, a reporter asked about recent measles deaths in Pennsylvania.

“Do you believe that five deaths, potentially six, from measles in the state of Pennsylvania…” the report begins. However, before he could finish his question, an aide standing next to Kennedy quickly interrupted him.

“We’re not going to talk about measles either,” the aide replied.

Kennedy protested and said he was “happy” to answer the question. At the same time, the journalist retaliated much more aggressively against the assistant.

“He is the highest health official in the country!” began the report. “He can answer that question! He’s a cabinet secretary!”

Kennedy was then able to answer the question by saying:

We did better. We are currently facing a global measles epidemic. It’s all over the world, and the measles outbreak is happening because many people haven’t been vaccinated during the COVID pandemic, and this is something that Anthony Fauci actually predicted. He said we will kill more people from measles and save ourselves from COVID by stopping measles vaccination programs. So now, six years later, we’re seeing this population, we have a global epidemic. We have done better and, in particular, my administration has been more successful in controlling the epidemic than any other country in the world. We have had 4,000 cases of measles this year. Mexico, which represents a third of our population, had 20,000. Canada has 7,000, or an eighth of our population. In Europe, they have had 135,000 cases. We are better at controlling it than any other country in the world.

Kennedy then blamed the governor of Pennsylvania. Josh Shapiro (D) for the state’s outbreak, accusing it of withholding CDC Epi-Aid.
