Every year, Heidi Klum, the undisputed queen of Halloween, leaves spooky season fans wondering what her next big costume reveal will be. In recent years, she has transformed into an ET, a peacock, a worm and even Fiona from Shrek. So, for her big party in New York last night, Klum once again achieved the art of the unexpected, this time transforming herself into… a giant replica of her own hand. “I always like to do something unexpected,” Klum said Voguea few hours before starting the long process of preparing for this evening. “Every year I want to surprise people and do something they’ve never seen me or anyone else do before. Halloween is my favorite time of year because I can completely transform myself and become something totally different.”
So where did Klum’s idea for the realistic (and life-size) appendix begin? This Halloween, the German model says she wanted to take something completely normal and turn it into something that was nonsense but. “Some of the most interesting ideas come from the most ordinary things,” says Klum. “I like the idea of taking something so common, and something we see every day, something we probably never think twice about, and transforming it into something larger than life. I thought it would be funny and weird to take something so familiar and transform it.”
