If I could only buy and hold 1 Magnificent Seven stock until 2030, it would be this one.

The “Magnificent Seven” are a cohort of major technology stocks made up of:

  1. Nvidia (NVDA -4.22%)
  2. Apple (AAPL -1.23%)
  3. Microsoft (MSFT -1.55%)
  4. Alphabet (GOOG -1.45%) (GOOGL -1.40%)
  5. Amazon (AMZN -1.41%)
  6. Metaplatforms (META -1.53%)
  7. Tesla (TSLA -0.86%)

This group of stocks has dominated the market for a long time and is among the 10 largest companies listed on US stock exchanges. Everyone is also working on artificial intelligence technologies to some extent, but there are questions about which stock will perform better through 2030. I think if you look at the market commentary and what these companies are saying, the choice is obvious: Nvidia.

Nvidia is expected to deliver the best returns through 2030, mainly due to the incredible growth it will take to get there. But how far can this go? Let’s take a look.

Many Magnificent Seven companies pay billions of dollars to Nvidia

Nvidia makes GPUs, along with the software and other hardware needed to use them. Graphics processing units are the first choice for many AI workloads, whether for training or inference. Nvidia’s GPUs are generally recognized as best in class and have become synonymous with AI computing for a reason.

Many companies on this list are spending hundreds of billions of dollars on AI infrastructure. every year. This figure is for a handful of places, but purchasing computer units is by far the largest use of this capital. Because Nvidia is much larger than its competitors combined, it’s the stock to own to capitalize on the development of AI.

There are countless projections for AI spending through 2030, and they’re all staggering. Nvidia’s own projections estimate that global annual data center capital spending will reach $3-4 trillion by 2030. That’s nothing short of staggering, but Nvidia is in a much better position to estimate it, given how far in advance customers place their orders.

For example, during the company’s second-quarter earnings call, it revealed that it expects 70% revenue growth in 2027. Nvidia wouldn’t have done this if management wasn’t completely confident in next year’s sales, but since it’s selling off its production capacity, it’s easy to estimate what future growth will look like.

Nvidia estimates that this year, capital spending for the big five AI hyperscalers will total nearly $800 billion. Next year, that figure will rise to $1.3 trillion. Including all other AI companies around the world, it’s easy to see how spending will likely double between next year’s estimates and 2030.

With this, we can see what kind of growth Nvidia can expect.

Nvidia will easily overtake the competition

If Nvidia’s revenue growth is 70% in 2027, then doubles again from 2028 to 2030, that would give total growth of 240%. This is much faster than anything the other members of the Magnificent Seven are putting together.

The next fastest growing producer, Meta, is growing at 26%. It would take Meta much longer to generate that kind of return than Nvidia, and it’s almost impossible for any other stock to outperform over that time frame simply because its growth will push it to do so.

I think this makes Nvidia the best buy among the Magnificent Seven, as its best years are still ahead. I think Nvidia is a great buy now, and if you have some extra cash, grabbing it now before it reports earnings towards the end of November might be a good idea. Nvidia stock hasn’t had the best year, and a good quarter could easily change that fact.
