iOS 27.2 adds a perfect new video feature for iPhone Duo

iOS 27.2 launched this week with many new features, including an upgrade to the Apple TV app that’s particularly perfect for the iPhone Duo: Multiview.

Multiview lets you watch four live sports broadcasts at once in the Apple TV app, ideal for the unfolded iPhone Duo

Apple TV’s growing lineup of sports content includes Formula 1, Major League Soccer (MLS), and Major League Baseball (MLB).

And a new video feature in iOS 27.2 – Multiview – makes me hope the streamer will add even more sports soon.

Multiview allows iPhone users to watch up to four live sports streams simultaneously. It is available for all sporting events included in an Apple TV subscription. Previously, Multiview was only available on Apple TV, iPad and Vision Pro.

Enabling Multiview is simple. Once you start watching a sporting event, you’ll see a new “Multiview” button at the bottom of the Apple TV player.

Each sport’s implementation will differ a little, but with F1 you can choose from a pre-built Multiview team or create your own custom setup that includes driver’s view cameras, course maps and much more.

I tried it on my iPhone 18 Pro, where I assumed the smaller screen would be a factor limiting the number of streams. Luckily, that wasn’t the case, as I was able to set up four F1 streams of the Austin Grand Prix and see all four on screen at the same time.

Where I imagine this will prove particularly nice is on iPhone Duo. While it’s great that smaller iPhones support Multiview, the ability to stream four video streams at once to the Duo’s big screen sounds fantastic.

Are you considering trying Multiview on your iPhone? Let us know in the comments.

Apple TV is available for $14.99 per monthor you can get it at a discount via the Apple One plan.
