Irene Miller, who left her kids for a trip to Vegas, is angry with them for calling 911: cops

The Florida mother accused of abandoning her four children at home during a nearly weeklong trip to Las Vegas was furious with her children for calling 911 after their little brother had to be hospitalized with a head injury, police revealed to The Post.

Irene Miller, 50, faces four counts of child endangerment after Osceola County deputies discovered her 9-year-old son suffering from a bloody wound to his forehead inflicted by a dumbbell that crashed while he was building a fort inside their Kissimmee home around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 21.

The boy, his 11-year-old sister and his brothers, ages 12 and 14, had been left unsupervised — except for a babysitter who drove two hours from Tampa to watch them in the morning and after school each day.

Their photographer mother left them on October 18 for a five-day work trip to Las Vegas.

When deputies contacted Miller on her cell phone after the crash, “she was very dismissive toward the deputy saying she was working right now … then said she was going to have to go and hang up on the deputy,” Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Kim Montes recalled Wednesday.

But the mother’s next gesture was even more confusing.

“Then she calls the 14-year-old on his cell phone, and I don’t want to use the word scream…but basically she says to the 14-year-old, ‘Why are you calling 911? You’re going to get me in trouble,'” Montes said.

“She berates the son for calling 911 … while he was standing there with the deputy. It was on speakerphone.”

“So she knew what she did was wrong,” the captain continued.

Yet Miller didn’t turn around and go home — even though her son’s head wound was patched up at the hospital and, later that night, all four children were released into the care of her allegedly abusive husband.

Mark Miller, 53, was charged with criminal charges and a restraining order after his wife of 15 years accused him of snatching her phone from her hand during a heated confrontation outside their children’s school in August, according to court documents reviewed by The Post.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Irene Miller, born in Russia, then filed a petition for dissolution of marriage against Mark Miller, born in Ukraine, last month, according to the documents.

Last week, “The kids were excited to see (their father) … like hugging him, happy to go with him, very excited to see him,” Montes said, adding that the no-contact order between the parents didn’t mean the children couldn’t stay with their father.

Mark Miller and the children have reportedly been staying in a motel ever since.

Back at the family home, cops noticed something else wrong during their search last week.

“The house was clean, the kids were clean. The deputy noticed there wasn’t a lot of food there,” Montes said. “There just didn’t seem to be a lot of food for four kids. »

Irene Miller was met by police at the Orlando airport upon her return from Las Vegas on Friday last week – a day and a half after the accident.

She was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail, but posted her $4,000 bond on Saturday.

His next court date was not immediately clear.
