Events in Greenville County
Fall for Greenville: “Although the main impacts of Hurricane Isaias are expected to move out of the Upstate this afternoon, lingering heavy rain is still possible this evening. According to a Greenville Zoo social media post, “The Greenville Zoo will be closed to the public today, October 10, due to inclement weather. Our staff will remain on site to ensure the safety and comfort of all our animals. Please stay tuned for additional updates.”
Saluda Lake Landing will not move forward with its Oktoberfest on Saturday, posting that the landing will be closed all weekend.
Events in Anderson County
Denver Downs will not open its doors Saturday for its fall festival. In a Facebook post, they said: “We have made the difficult decision to close tomorrow due to weather-related safety concerns. We will announce tomorrow evening for Sunday.”
Anderson’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease has been postponed due to inclement weather, according to organizers. They did not announce a new date on Saturday. The Columbia march was also postponed.
Meanwhile, the town of Pendleton has changed locations for its fall harvest festival. Riverside Middle School will host indoors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Road closures for the outer portion are now canceled.
And for Depot Day enthusiasts in Iva, more bad news Saturday morning. The Town of Iva posted on Facebook: “We are so sorry, but with the weather forecast for tomorrow, Depot Day on Saturday will be canceled. The rescheduled date for Depot Day and the car show will be in conjunction with Jingle on Main on November 21.
Events in Western North Carolina
The Hendersonville Farmers Market is canceled today and participating store hours may vary due to flooding and wind concerns. They still have three more markets planned for October.
The Mills River Apple Country Engine and Tractor Association’s fall harvest day has been postponed until Halloween.
The Marion’s Mountain Glory Festival will not take place on Saturday. The city posted on its website: “The City of Marion regrets to announce the cancellation of this year’s Mountain Glory Festival due to weather conditions associated with Hurricane Isaias forecast for this weekend. »
Tryon International has made several changes to its schedule, stating: “All Saturday Night Lights indoor activities, family entertainment and local vendors market have been canceled. » They are moving forward with Oktoberfest in a different location.
Waynesville’s longest-running fall festival and juried art show, the 43rd Church Street Art and Craft Show, has been canceled.
