Moshe Feiglin, leader of the settler libertarian Zehut party, called on Israel to overturn its election results and hold early elections, with border police battalions stationed at polling stations in Arab communities, citing concerns about foreign interference.

Feiglin, second on the list of the far-right Religious Zionism party, said in a video statement that candidates should be banned from speaking during the new campaign, with the public simply asked to vote again.

“We cannot allow Qatar to take control of our Knesset,” Feiglin said, hours after Israel’s Central Election Commission asked the Shin Bet security service to investigate suspected foreign interference in the election. Qatar has denied any interference in the elections.

Feiglin called for “battalions of border police at the entrance to every polling station where Arabs vote.”

He also called for every voter in Arab polling stations to be checked, saying “any woman wearing a burqa must remove her burqa” for verification.
