Jason Sudeikis takes stock of potential seasons 5 and 6 of “Ted Lasso”

Never count Ted Lasso out.

After all, series co-creator Jason Sudeikis thought the series would end with season 3. Then came season 4.

Sudeikis recently spoke on the podcast Speak Softly with Sam Fragoso on the prospects for seasons 5 and 6.

Sudeikis said he “would love” to do more seasons but, he said, “it takes a village.”

He was asked if he thought Apple would be open to more Tedventured Sudeikis, “I suppose so.”

Pressed on whether there would indeed be more to the show, the actor admitted, “I just don’t know,” before answering more definitively: “We haven’t created a writers’ room or anything like that.”

Fragoso pointed out that Sudeikis had no concept for a fourth season before creating it, and that he was at that point creatively exhausted, with an empty cup. The host asked if a similar process could produce two additional installments.

“Um, we’re going to need a bigger cup,” the actor joked.

But he didn’t rule it out, at one point describing how, after a hiatus after season 3, he continued to hear the characters’ voices in his head. “Then,” he says, “other new voices began to appear.” These were the voices of the women on the Season 3 team.

“I think it would be fun,” Sudeikis said.
