Josh Jacobs to receive full week of practice, match status to be determined

The packers I won’t have Defensive end Micah Parsons is back in practice this week, but they will have running back Josh Jacobs on the field as they prepare to take on the Lions.

Jacobs was removed from the exempt list Monday and head coach Matt LaFleur said he would get a full week of practice upon his return to active duty. LaFleur said Jacobs’ status for the game against the Lions “has to be determined” by how things go in practice. This is also the case for how much he will play if he is active.

“We think he’s in a pretty good position,” LaFleur said during his press conference. “He trained, but he missed the exposure to football.”

LaFleur said Jacobs has been “engaged” with the team during his paid leave by attending meetings and doing conditioning work, giving LaFleur hope he can provide “a spark” to the league’s least productive ground attack.

“I think he’s an elite-level guard,” LaFleur said. “He’s definitely not going to hurt her.”

Jacobs has totaled 2,258 yards and 29 touchdowns in his first two seasons in Green Bay and the Packers would welcome that kind of jolt into their offense whenever possible.
