Justin Timberlake is set to release a four-part documentary series on Apple TV in December, described as an “eye-opener,” three sources confirm. Variety.
One source claims the series will feature Janet Jackson discussing the infamous “wardrobe malfunction” that took place during the duo’s 2004 Super Bowl performance. Another source claims Timberlake also discusses some recent comments made by his former girlfriend Britney Spears.
Further details about the series, directed by Fisher Stevens, were not available at the time of this article’s publication; Reps for Timberlake, Jackson and Apple had no comment or response VarietyMultiple requests for comments.
Timberlake has a relationship with the streamer that dates back to 2021, when he starred in the Apple Original Movie “Palmer.”
The news comes during a relatively low-key time for Timberlake, who made an appearance at Jay-Z’s Paris concert last month but has otherwise been off the radar since his “Forget Tomorrow” world tour in support of his most recent album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” released in March 2024.
The singer announced in July 2025 that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease, which affected some of his performances on the tour. Fans noticed that Timberlake seemed sluggish and unenergetic while performing on the international portion of the trek, which he said was due to the nerve damage and fatigue he suffered from Lyme disease.
“I’ve been dealing with health issues and was diagnosed with Lyme disease – which I’m not saying to make you feel bad for me – but to shed light on what I was dealing with behind the scenes,” he wrote. “If you have suffered from this condition or know someone who has, then you know: living with it can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically.”
The tour, which ended in July 2025, was further complicated by Timberlake’s DWI conviction, following his arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, the previous year. He was stopped by police in June 2024 after running a stop sign and leaving his lane. The incident took place shortly before the tour kicked off, and Page Six reported that Timberlake told police officers, in a very memorable comment, “This is going to ruin the tour” – however, police body camera footage later released showed that he did not say those words, but rather something like “I’m on tour.”
