WASHINGTON, October 17, 2026 – Kayem Foods Inc., a Chelsea, Massachusetts, facility, is recalling approximately 1,584,361 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products because they may have experienced excessive temperatures during storage, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
RTE meat and poultry products were produced between approximately March 31, 2026 and October 7, 2026.
The following products, of varying weights, are subject to recall: Recall 026-2026 product labels.

The recalled products bear the establishment numbers “EST. M/P 7839″, “EST. P 20935A” and “EST. M 9520” inside the USDA inspection mark. These items were shipped to retail and foodservice outlets nationwide and in Hong Kong.
The issue was discovered after the company received a complaint from a retail customer regarding high product temperatures at the point of delivery on October 1, 2026. The facility investigated and determined that it was storing various RTE meat and poultry products in a warehouse walk-in cooler that had temperature discrepancies.
No cases of illness due to the consumption of these products have been confirmed. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare professional.
FSIS is concerned that some products may be found in consumers’ refrigerators. Consumers who have purchased these products are asked not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS regularly conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling companies notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, retail distribution lists will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
