Kris Jenner reportedly “freaked out on camera” after finding out her past affair was included in a new biography about her daughter, Kim Kardashian.
“Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future” author Jonathan Van Meter, who has spent a lot of time with the reality TV clan, said in a new interview that Kardashian called him “late night” a few months ago.
When asked if any of the Kardashian-Jenner family had read the book — which is scheduled to be released October 27 — the author responded that Kim had “been to Khloé’s house, where Khloé told her that Kris had broken down on camera while they were filming the show,” referring to Kim’s younger sister.
He said Kim told him Kris was yelling, “Why did Kim drag us all into this? Why is my affair from 30 years ago in the book?”
Van Meter claimed that “two days later” the matriarch was “doing well.”
But, he added, “it will be on the show,” referring to the Hulu family series — now in its eighth season, “The Kardashians.”
The author claims that the founder of Skims told Kris: “This is all written about us, and then a guy comes along who understands us and wants to explain it to us. Why wouldn’t you want that?”
Van Meter added, “That’s the closest answer I could come to as to why she wrote the book,” referring to the reality star’s participation in the biography.
A representative for Kim and Kris did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Friday.
Although the biographer does not name names, Kris previously revealed an extramarital affair with Todd Waterman in 1989, during her marriage to Kim’s father, the late Robert Kardashian.
Kris — who was married to defense attorney OJ Simpson from 1978 to 1991 and shared children Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian Jr. with him — admitted deep regrets over the months-long relationship.
“I think I fell into a situation where I thought the grass was greener on the other side,” Kris said during a 2023 episode of the show, when Khloé asked her why she cheated on their father.
“And I made a huge mistake,” she continued, adding, “It’s like the biggest regret of my life.”
Robert Sr. died in September 2003 at the age of 59 after a brief battle with esophageal cancer.
Kris, now 70, married ex Bruce Jenner in 1991 before splitting in 2013. Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, who publicly came out as transgender in 2015, welcomed daughters Kendall Jenner, 30, and Kylie Jenner, 29, during their union.
