Keith Lee hasn’t been seen in AEW for almost three years, but he is reportedly still in the company. Lee last competed on AEW TV on the December 23, 2023 Holiday Bash episode of AEW Collision. Since then, he has not been featured on television and his in-ring status is not entirely clear.
A fan question in the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A focused on Lee’s contract and the status of his injury. Sean Ross Sapp stated that Lee was still under contract with AEW and was currently not considered in any future creative plans.
As previously reported, a return for Lee was discussed at one point during the first half, but it obviously didn’t happen and no reason was given.
Keith Lee sparked some controversy online after posting a photo with Darius Wright in September, a personality who teaches alternative spiritual practices such as out-of-body experiences and more. Sapp noted that the post was a “topic of conversation for about a day” at the company, but was not spoken about again after that.
