“Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” personality Layla Taylor and her girlfriend Kelsie Chesser made their red carpet debut at the 2026 “Virtual Reali-Tea” Awards on Tuesday.
The couple was photographed arm in arm at the event in New York, sponsored by Tri-State Cadillac, CoverGirl, Philo and Kahlúa, with Taylor wearing an asymmetrical floral corset dress with a pleated skirt and light blue strappy heels.
Chesser, meanwhile, wore a navy suit and black shoes for the occasion and accessorized with a simple gold necklace.
The reality star, 25, came out as bisexual in June, revealing she was dating a woman – without revealing Chesser’s identity.
“I’m gay and bi and I date women and men,” Taylor said on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast.
At the time, she explained that she was “talking” to an “emotionally aware” and “very patient” woman who caught her eye after “liking” an Instagram photo.
“She was just very understanding and letting me take it at my own pace because it’s still foreign to me and it’s so new. (It’s the) level of understanding and just being there for me,” the MomTok influencer explained.
Want to watch from home? Philo is the exclusive streaming partner of the 2026 VRT Awards, and the only place you’ll find the full show this year. The best part? Viewing is free on Philo’s ad-supported platform from October 9. Additionally, you can now track last year’s awards at Philo.com/VRTs..
Taylor also noted that coming out was “just something that (she) honestly didn’t really know how to formally approach for a long period of (her) life.”
Now, she said, she’s “finally in the era” where she feels comfortable “showing every part of Layla to the world.”
In July, Taylor shared a first glimpse of her girlfriend with a clip of them holding hands that only showed her new partner’s tattooed arms.
“‘You’ve been shining lately.’ Thanks, I’m dating a woman now,” she wrote above the clip, adding in the caption: “Chivalry isn’t dead, lesbians are.”
Later that month, Taylor finally revealed to fans the identity of his new girlfriend, as Chesser shared a TikTok video.
“When I slid into my girlfriend’s DMs hoping she liked girls,” Chesser captioned the video, in which she sang Beyoncé’s “Partition.”
“Grateful she was 🙂↕️ #wlw #girlfriend,” Chesser captioned the post – with Taylor confirming the romance in the comments thread by writing, “Fold.”
Taylor, who shares two young sons with ex-husband Clayton Wessel, rose to fame on the Utah-based reality show.
She was married to Wessel from 2020 to 2025.
