A worrying injury situation is developing in Detroit.
Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was carried off the field on a backboard after falling while making a tackle early in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
Campbell stayed on the ground and didn’t move after overthrowing TJ Hockenson on a 10-yard gain.
Medical staff immediately attended to Campbell. Members of the Lions and Vikings took a knee as Campbell was treated. He was pinned on a backboard with Lions players coming towards him as he was taken off the field.
Some Lions players, including Aidan Hutchinson, were visibly emotional during the Fox broadcast.
Detroit leads Minnesota 12-7 early in the fourth quarter.
UPDATE 3:58 p.m. ET: Detroit announced that Campbell was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated for a neck injury.
