Live Earnings Updates: Roku Reports Profits Above Fox Acquisition

Roku (ROKU) reported a healthy profit Monday, thanks to its ninth consecutive quarter of double-digit advertising growth.

Here’s what Roku reported, compared to Wall Street analyst estimates compiled by S&P Global Market Intelligence:

  • Income: up 24% year-over-year to $1.5 billion, versus estimates of $1.41 billion.

  • Earnings per share: $1.20, compared to an estimate of $0.55.

  • Advice: None given.

Roku stock was little changed after the report.

In June, Roku reached a deal to be acquired by Fox (FOX). The company said that, given its impending buyout, it would not hold an earnings conference call or provide forecasts.

“Our third quarter demonstrated that we succeed when our partners succeed, whether it’s a streaming service gaining subscribers through Premium Subscriptions, a content company monetizing its library on The Roku Channel, an advertiser purchasing through a third-party DSP, or a TV brand choosing the Roku TV operating system,” CEO Anthony Wood wrote in a press release.
