Cameroon native Solange Omon has been on the Maine modeling circuit, but is now getting a huge new contract.
LOS ANGELES —
A model originally from Cameroon but now living in Maine is the new Victoria’s Secret Angel.
The 21-year-old was introduced as the winner of the “Angels Among Us” competition in Los Angeles on Sunday night and made her debut at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

“Angels Among Us” was a six-part reality competition broadcast on YouTube. It tracked ten finalists chosen through a nationwide search. According to reports, more than 100,000 people have started the application process.
By winning the competition, Omon also gets an exclusive modeling contract with IMG Models.
Omon has modeled in multicultural fashion shows in Maine in recent months and is based in Lewiston. She worked with Port City Models and Talent.

She is the oldest of six siblings and a full-time student, according to her Victoria’s Secret finalist profile. She also worked with a nonprofit to help black and immigrant children, mostly teenagers, apply for jobs, build networks, connect with mentors and connect with their communities.
