- Manning is the backup quarterback for Baylor School, which is currently undefeated.
- He previously played in the team’s season opener before sustaining his injury.
After nearly a month on the sidelines with a foot injury, Baylor School (TN) quarterback Marshall Manning is officially back in action.
Manning, the son of Peyton Manning, made his return with nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of No. 12 Baylor’s 45-17 win over Montgomery Bell Academy on Friday, Sept. 25. He completed the first pass he fired to freshman receiver Jayden Cauvier.
Manning previously saw action in the Red Raiders’ season-opener against Brentwood Academy (TN) on Aug. 20 before head coach Erik Kimrey reported his injury. In his debut, he connected with junior receiver Antwaun Adams for 6 yards and a first down on his first varsity snap.
He ran the ball on the next play before quarterback starting and Ole Miss commit Keegan Croucher returned to the helmet to help lead the Red Raiders to a 38-20 victory over the Eagles.
Manning transferred to Baylor ahead of his eighth grade year from Denver and is serving as Baylor’s backup quarterback to Croucher.
The Red Raiders are 6-0 on the season and will face McCallie in an all-Chattanooga battle next week.
