Meghan Markle joins “Junior MasterChef Australia”.
The Duchess of Sussex will be a “special guest” alongside host Poh Ling Yeow when the show returns in 2027 after a six-year hiatus, Page Six can confirm.
The retired royal, 45, described her decision to take part in the competition series as an “easy yes” in an enthusiastic statement.
Markle wrote: “I love cooking with my own kids (Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet), so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun.”
“I can’t wait to see what they’re up to!” she concludes.
Yeow, for her part, said she “had a really nice time” on the set of “MasterChef Australia” with Markle in April.
“Being reunited will be a real treat,” Yeow continued. “I can’t wait to meet our little culinary adventurers. I’m expecting lots of delicious surprises and a little mischief too.”
Before her July episode of “MasterChef Australia,” Markle was last on television hosting her Netflix series “With Love, Meghan.”
The show was canceled in January after two seasons and a holiday special, with the streaming giant also cutting ties with its lifestyle brand As Ever in March.
While it’s unclear when Markle will travel to the West Indies to film the series, she and her family are believed to have left the UK this week.
Markle, Prince Harry, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, traveled abroad amid the explosive child pornography investigation into the actress’ father, Thomas Markle.
News broke Thursday that Thomas was under investigation in the Philippines after “hundreds, if not thousands” of child sexual abuse images were allegedly discovered recently in his home by his son, Thomas Markle Jr.
Meghan told Page Six in a later statement that she was “deeply distressed,” saying she learned of her father’s alleged wrongdoing in 2018, which led to their separation.
“I hope we can now understand that… any distance from my father and my choice not to allow him to have contact with our children was for one reason only: to protect them,” Meghan wrote. “I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families. »
London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed this weekend, according to The Sun, that Meghan had indeed received a letter containing allegations of child sexual abuse against Thomas Sr. – but in January 2019.
The former “Deal or No Deal” actress’ rep acknowledged that her recollection “may have been off by a few months.”
A source told Hello! magazine that Meghan is “really, really upset” and “in pieces” as she navigates the “emotional roller coaster.”
“She keeps looking at Lili and she’s in tears, and she’s thinking about all the children, the alleged victims,” the source said. “She has young children of her own. It’s just devastating.”
The 82-year-old, for his part, has publicly denied the allegations against him, calling them “sick lies.”
