Australian model Sahara Ray – who was once romantically involved with Justin Bieber – has died just months after giving birth to her daughter. She was 34 years old.
“She passed away last night surrounded by her family at the hospital,” the internet personality’s family told TMZ on Monday. “She was so loved.”
The cause of death was not immediately released.
Ray’s family was not immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Sahara Ray Swim’s death comes after she revealed her battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disease, which left her partially paralyzed and briefly wheelchair-bound, in April 2024, when she was hit by a car.
“Basically, right now I’m paralyzed from the top of my thighs down to my feet. I can’t walk at all,” she said in a TikTok video shortly after the accident, according to 7news.com.
Ray told her followers that she could “barely walk,” explaining that she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome after her body went into shock and she became extremely ill.
According to the Mayo Clinic, Guillain-Barré syndrome “is a condition in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves,” with symptoms that “cause weakness, numbness, or paralysis.”
Ray was mourned by his fans and friends, including pal Becky Hearn, who took to Instagram to share several throwback photos with Ray.
“Sahara, a purring person with a very big heart,” Heam wrote. “My heart is broken for you and your family. Rest in peace.”
Ray’s tragic death comes after she had just given birth to her daughter, Snow, in January.
At the time, she took to Instagram to share a video of her baby bump, captioning it: “Wish me luck. I’m being induced today at 8 p.m. So excited, so nervous.”
Ray officially introduced his newborn to his followers in April with a sweet video of them cozying up together.
“Baby snow hallelujah,” she captioned the post, which was paired with Bieber’s 2025 hit “Everything Hallelujah.”
Ray’s last post was a sweet photo of his daughter, shared in July.
“All my heart 🤍 baby Snow,” she captioned a photo of the baby.
Sahara – the daughter of surfer Tony Ray – previously made headlines for her romance with Bieber in 2016.
At the time, they were seen vacationing in Hawaii and going swimming together.
The model was also previously linked to Mod Sun in 2023 when they were seen locking lips in a social media post.
