‘NCIS’ Franchise Ratings Soaring for CBS Premiere Tuesday

EXCLUSIVE: THE NCIS the franchise is back to heat things up for CBS on Tuesday night.

The lineup helped the broadcaster claim the top spot during Tuesday’s prime time window, averaging 5.49 million viewers, up 39% from last year’s Tuesday premiere.

This is partly thanks to the launch of NCIS: New York. The series premiere, which welcomes back LL Cool J as Sam Hanna, Scott Caan and Nick Schaeffer, attracted 5.62 million viewers at 9 p.m. This represents an increase of 53% year-on-year during the period, which was previously occupied by NCIS: Origins.

new York was just behind the faithful original, whose Season 24 debut attracted 6.45 million viewers to become the series’ most-watched episode in more than two years, since the Season 21 finale in May 2024. Viewership was also up 21% year-over-year.

While NCIS: Origins was perhaps the least watched of the three, it was a heavyweight in its day. The season 3 premiere attracted 4.39 million viewers at 10 p.m., up 20% from last year’s premiere at 9 p.m. and up 56% from the previous year’s premiere. NCIS: Sydney.

All three shows had significant milestones to offer. In addition to the return of LL Cool J and Caan, Michael Weatherly also joined the flagship series this season as Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo Jr. OriginsMark Harmon has joined the cast as Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
