Netflix’s ‘Untold’ to Take on Daejon Love (Exclusive)

If only Daejon Love had worked as hard at running routes as he did at scamming women, maybe he actually would have made it to the league. But probably not – and if he did, we wouldn’t have an all-time great potential. Unspeakable slice to hope for.

The next documentary from the excellent Netflix Unspeakable The film series will focus on Love, who scammed women out of money while posing as a San Francisco 49ers wideout, The Hollywood Reporter learned exclusively. Unpublished: great deceiver (the correct one) will be “informed first-hand by those affected by the scam”, we are UN» recounted, unpacking “the viral nickname and the much darker story it revealed”.

On August 24, 2026, Love was arrested on wire fraud charges after a group of women, his alleged victims, came forward to law enforcement. Before Love’s arrest, numerous social media videos, photos and direct messages Love sent to women and businesses touting his status as a Niners wide receiver went viral, including one of Love running routes and catching balls on a beach wearing a 49ers helmet. (He almost always had this helmet with him.)

Another popular post was a photo of a cake of San Francisco’s No. 7 jersey (Love’s fake number) that he said the Niners sent him for his birthday. (San Francisco has a true wide receiver who wears No. 7: De’Zhaun Stribling changed his jersey number from 15 in the preseason, when Love’s scam made headlines, to 7 in the regular season. It was a good play because sales of the 49ers’ No. 7 jersey began to take off around the same time.)

Love’s DMs to companies often requested extravagant treatment, including free goods and services, and that the company provide personal security information.

Love Unspeakable doesn’t yet have a director or cast list, but a source close to production says the film will focus on women and their stories. (So probably not from Daejon himself.)

Unpublished: great deceiver comes from Propagate and Stardust Frames in association with North of Now and The Cut. Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Maclain Way, Chapman Way, Ryan Duffy, Isabel San Vargas, Aaron Ginsburg, William Green, Andrew Renzi and Nick Boak are executive producers.
