New NFL Trade Rumors on Chiefs, Broncos, Vikings and Steelers Top Targets Ahead of Deadline

NFL teams have already made some seismic deals ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline, but more could be on the horizon.

Following the Green Bay Packers’ 27-19 win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, NFL insider James Palmer reported on Prime on the latest news regarding some contending teams.

Kansas City Chiefs: “The Kansas City Chiefs, to my knowledge, have been working the phones for weeks here trying to get a wide receiver for Patrick Mahomes. Is it Brian Thomas Jr.? Is it Josh Downs? They’ve kind of weighed all their options. (General manager) Brett Veach has done this before, let’s see if he can do it again.”

Denver Broncos: “They’re one of the teams monitoring Jonathan Taylor’s situation. It’s even more likely he stays in Indianapolis, but they’re keeping an eye on it.”

Minnesota Vikings: “The new Vikings general manager, Nolan Teasley, is monitoring everything. He’s crazy on the phone, I’m told. They’re interested in running back and tight end.”

Additionally, Palmer said the Detroit Lions “would love to have help at cornerback” and that the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for help at wide receivers.

Big names have already changed teams, including left guard Quenton Nelson (to the Seattle Seahawks), defensive tackles Jeffery Simmons (to the Chicago Bears) and DeForest Buckner (to the San Francisco 49ers), Marvin Harrison Jr. (to the Houston Texans) and Joey Porter Jr. (to the Dallas Cowboys). More may be on the way.

Breaking down Palmer’s report further, the 5-1 Chiefs need help at wide receiver. Tyquan Thornton leads in receiving yards (219), and he has played in just four of six games after suffering a dislocated left ankle.

The 5-2 Broncos didn’t run the running game, averaging just 3.4 yards per carry. Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (765 total yards, eight touchdowns) would certainly help, although it seems more likely than not that he will stay with his current team.

The 6-0 Vikings, who are the last undefeated team, need some offensive help. Minnesota has the better defense, but ranks 23rd in points per game.

The 4-2 Lions have allowed the second-most passing touchdowns (16) and rank 26th on defense.

The Steelers’ 5-2 wideout has been affected by injuries. Roman Wilson (dislocated finger on left hand) and Michael Pittman Jr. (plantar fasciitis in left foot) are both on injured reserve.

Overall, we should expect more movement on a very active trading front, with the deadline just under two weeks away.
