Nicolas Cage says he’s “a little homeless” after a sinkhole swallowed part of his Malibu home.
Speaking about his Halloween plans during a Los Angeles Comic Con panel this weekend, Cage said he’s “a little bit homeless right now.”
“Something happened at my house in Malibu. So I’m just living in hotels, so I don’t have the usual treats that I’d like to enjoy tonight,” he said, according to a fan video of the panel.

A massive sinkhole formed in the driveway of Cage’s coastal Southern California home in September. At the time, authorities were investigating what caused the sinkhole to open.
City officials said the sinkhole also caused a gas leak, but no one was injured.
Video from the house shows a huge crater in the driveway that appears to engulf everything on it. Aerial images make it unclear whether the house itself suffered damage.

According to an emergency proclamation from the city of Malibu, the sinkhole began forming on September 7 and fully emerged on September 8, measuring 25 to 30 feet deep and 30 feet by 60 feet wide.
Seven homes were “red-tagged” due to dangerous conditions caused by the sinkhole, the proclamation said, as were 24 additional homes “due to loss of safe vehicle access.” Gas services in the area have been cut off.
The next day, the city announced that the housing association that controls the area would work on repairs. He said repairs should be completed within five weeks “depending on conditions”.
Representatives for Cage did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News. It is unclear how long he has been away from home and when he will be able to return.
The city of Malibu has not released any further information about the sinkhole and did not immediately respond to a request for additional information.
