The supply chain (capacity) is indeed somewhat constrained, but NVIDIA is doing everything possible to get its products to market. Although there are other variants of the RTX 5090 (chip), its production has definitely not been abandoned. NVIDIA will continue to deliver, and that’s very important.

Fisher also told CNA that the supply crisis is a global issue affecting the entire industry and that the company would not be where it is today without GeForce. However, his comments don’t say whether partners are getting new GB202 chips again, and it’s unclear what he means by “other variants,” although the GB202 also powers workstation cards like the RTX PRO 6000 and RTX PRO 5500. Regardless, the RTX 5090 is still very hard to find near its $1,999 MSRP, with some listings going well over $8,000 on Amazon and Newegg now. It is reasonable to expect this to remain the case for some time, given the constraints acknowledged by Fisher himself.
