The Packers blew leads late in losses to the Bears in the regular season and playoffs last season, which would have provided Green Bay with plenty of motivation for Sunday’s game at Lambeau Field on its own.
Bears receiver Luther Burden, however, gave them a little more lead on the game. Burden said this week that the Bears wanted to “really beat them and make them stop” and his thoughts were noted in the Packers locker room.
After the Packers improved to 31-7 against their NFC North rivals, linebacker Zaire Franklin called out Burden in his postgame comments.
“There are guys who have never really played a real game in this league talking about fighting make someone resign” Franklin said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. “It’s weird. We don’t do that. Besides, he resigned today. He doesn’t want to play anymore.
Burden had six catches for 47 yards in the loss.
