Trump says he should have left Iran’s first and second leaders begging for their lives
President Donald Trump said the war in Iran would “end very quickly” after the midterms, saying Iranian officials were now seeking assurances that they would be allowed to live.
“Their leaders are gone,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Kalispell, Montana, on Wednesday evening. “I probably should have left the leadership because I don’t know who we are negotiating with.”
Trump said Iran’s “first-tier leaders are all gone,” along with its “second-tier leaders” and half of its “third-tier leaders.”
“And now the main thing they ask in negotiations is: could you allow us to live? » Trump said. “They don’t want us to go after them.”
Trump added that the conflict would end soon “one way or another,” predicting that oil prices would then fall sharply.
“This is going to end very quickly,” Trump said. “And when that happens, oil is going to go down significantly.”
Trump also held a midterm campaign rally in Arizona on Wednesday, where he boldly suggested treason and firing squad for military leaders who leak war secrets to the media.
