SALINA, Kan. —
Two days after announcing he would visit Kansas again, President Donald Trump’s return trip to the Sunflower State has been canceled.
Trump was scheduled to hold a rally in Salina, Kansas, on Saturday, October 31, at the Salina Regional Airport.
The Salina Regional Airport Authority confirmed to KMBC 9 News Thursday that the tour had been canceled.
A spokesperson for the organization said the Trump administration canceled all Kansas events scheduled for Saturday.
No reason for the cancellation was provided.
It was to be his second trip to the state in less than two weeks as Republicans make a final push to keep Kansas’ U.S. Senate seat in GOP hands.
Republican Sen. Roger Marshall is in a tight race against Democrat Adam Hamilton, bringing national attention to a state that is traditionally a Republican stronghold.
Trump happened to be in the Wichita area on October 19, where he rallied his supporters behind Marshall.
KMBC 9 News has reached out to the Kansas Republican Party for more information.
