President Trump holds rally in Highland Heights on Saturday

President Donald Trump will hold a rally Saturday at Truist Arena in Highland Heights.

Doors to the gathering itself will open at 10:30 a.m. and remarks will begin at 2:00 p.m.; however, traffic in and around Highland Heights will be affected all day. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is warning drivers that local law enforcement and the Secret Service will impose restrictions on roadways in and around the event. Travelers to the region should plan accordingly.

“People should expect traffic delays between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with the most significant delays occurring between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.,” according to the firm.

The rally comes a few weeks before the midterm elections. A U.S. Senate seat is up for grabs, with Republican Andy Barr and Democrat Charles Booker seeking to replace longtime incumbent Republican Senator Mitch McConnell.

A congressional representative in Kentucky’s 4th District is also on the ballot. Republican Ed Gallrein, who won the primary nomination over incumbent Republican Thomas Massie, and Democrat Melissa Strange are seeking to fill the seat.
