Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leave the UK with their children amid the Thomas Markle Sr investigation.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly left the United Kingdom with their children while his father, Thomas Markle Sr., remains under investigation for child pornography allegations.

“She’s really, really upset,” a close friend of the “Suits” alum told Hello! Magazine Monday, explaining that she and Harry have taken their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, somewhere abroad, although it’s unclear where exactly they are going.

“She keeps looking at Lili and she’s in tears, and she’s thinking about all the children, the alleged victims,” the source told the publication. “She has young children of her own. It’s just devastating.”

According to Markle’s friend, the actress “decided a while ago,” before the news made headlines, “that she was going to step away from the media and stop watching anything, for her own mental health.”

However, the Duchess of Sussex, 45, was bombarded with messages from her friends “saying how sorry they are”.

“But it’s been just a rollercoaster of emotions for her,” the source claimed. “She’s in pieces.”

A representative for Markle and Harry, 42, was not immediately available to Page Six for comment.

The couple left town after it was announced that Thomas Sr. was under investigation for “hundreds, if not thousands” of images of child sexual abuse, allegedly recently discovered at his home in the Philippines by his son, Thomas Jr.

According to an article in the Sun, Thomas Jr. claimed to have found the images in boxes and handed them over to local authorities.

Meghan addressed the allegations against the patriarch on Friday in a statement to Page Six, saying she was “deeply distressed” by the allegations and sharing that she learned of her father’s alleged wrongdoing in 2018 – the same year she married the Duke of Sussex.

At the time, the businesswoman learned that the allegations were “being investigated,” which led her to part ways with Thomas Sr., who notably was not present at the royal wedding.

“I hope it can now be understood that, despite the distortion of some media publications over the years, any distance from my father and my choice not to allow him to have contact with our children, was for one reason only: to protect them,” Markle wrote.

“I was convinced that the authorities were doing the same for other families,” she continued, adding that “the scale of what was discovered is more sickening than anyone could ever imagine.”

Meghan wrote her last letter to Thomas Sr. in December 2025, while he was recovering from having his leg amputated, allegedly writing that he would never meet her children or hear from her again.

Additionally, Thomas Sr.’s late first wife, Roslyn Loveless, who died in 2024, detailed his alleged abuse in a letter that ended up with the London Metropolitan Police in 2019 and was then forwarded to Markle, sources told Page Six.

Thomas Sr., however, denied the allegations against him, calling them “sick lies” in an interview with the Daily Mail on Friday. His daughter, Samantha, also defended her father, saying Thomas Jr. made up the allegations as “revenge” for being cut off financially.

In happier news, Markle will soon be heading to the United States to film “Junior MasterChef Australia.”

The As Ever founder joins the series, which returns after a six-year hiatus, as a “special guest” alongside host Poh Ling, according to a press release from Australian Network 10.

Markle called agreeing to appear on the show an “easy yes,” saying in a statement: “I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what they make!”
