“I didn’t cry when I was told my mother had died, only at her funeral, and then not for almost two decades,” he said during a session. “I was convinced it was a strength, but it wasn’t. He was a 12-year-old boy with no clearance to break down and no road map to recovery.”

He continued: “You’d think I had the best help in the world. I’m a prince for God’s sake, but I was still grieving and had nowhere to express those feelings.”

Harry has also been candid about the fact that he always carries his mother with him.

“Everything I do, everything I put my energy into, I hope my mother is proud of it,” he said. “In trying to continue and protect her legacy, what I didn’t realize was that the work that I ultimately chose or the work that I was drawn to and drawn to was so similar to the work that she was also doing.”

“There is an element of carrying my mother within me that ultimately energizes me for the work that I do,” the father of two added.
