A glamorous Brazilian businesswoman was shot dead by her paranoid, much older boyfriend just after she dumped him during a phone call, according to a report.
Priscila Lacerda Custodio, 24, had only been dating cattle herder João Roberto Bolelli, 62, for four months – but complained that he hired people to watch her while threatening to kill her, an unidentified friend told Globo.
He also scared her by questioning her about trips she was taking, accusing her of cheating on him – and also allegedly assaulted her just four days before the murder on Friday.
Custodio, who worked in digital marketing, was so afraid of her much older lover that she made her brother and a friend join her as she went to Bolelli’s ranch in São Paulo on Friday to return a pickup truck she was using.
But they began arguing in a phone call before she even arrived, with the glamorous 24-year-old saying she had finally had enough and was ending their short-lived romance, the outlet said.
Bolelli allegedly opened fire when her lover arrived, killing her with bullets in the chest and arm.
Bolelli – who had been banned from seeing another ex years earlier – then pointed his gun at his murdered ex’s brother, chasing him before fleeing the scene.
An arrest warrant has been issued for what is believed to be femicide.
Custodio was a “wonderful person” whose life “was cut short by a bad man,” friend Juliana Amaral told Globo.
“She was beautiful, charming and extremely polite,” Amaral said. “In three years of friendship, I have never seen her say bad things about anyone.”
Bolelli had previously been convicted of violating protective orders obtained by another former partner. He was sentenced to three months and 15 days in prison in December 2021.
A legal representative said the case was under investigation but the suspect had not been in contact.
