You will have to wait a few more weeks to have access to the official set of new PS Plus Premium games for this month, but in the meantime there has been a bonus addition to the service.
Not announced or promoted by Sony or publisher Deep Silver, the new PS5 version of Metro Redux – which improves and enriches Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light – has been added to PS Plus Premium. The old PS4 version already existed, but the list has now been updated to support the PS5 edition as well.
This new PS5 version brings significant improvements over the original PS4 bundle of both intense shooters, so they’re worth revisiting if you haven’t already. Here’s what to expect on PS5:
- 4K resolution at 60fps
- Enhanced 4K at 120fps with PSSR support (PS5 Pro)
- Increased texture details
- Improved shadows, lighting and shading
- Particle effects
- Improved animation and sound quality
- Support for low power mode
- Paving and moving material in real time
The third game in the series, Metro Exodus, has been added to PS Plus Extra a few months ago, the entire franchise is now playable natively on PS5 via Sony’s subscription service. Now would also be a great time to catch up, with Metro 2039 releasing in February 2027.
