She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in the summer of 2025, another friend, Tiara Ramos, wrote on Substack.
“His diagnosis was a shock,” Ramos recalls. “Although her mother had breast cancer years earlier, she was never identified as high risk or asked by her doctors to prioritize mammograms. It was one of many failures she experienced within the medical system during her battle with cancer.”
She explained that the two have been closest friends for decades.
“Having someone who knew me so deeply, so intimately, someone with whom I could be my worst self and by whom I was still loved, gave me a feeling of connection that I could never fully explain,” Ramos wrote of her “fiercely loyal and loving” friend who was always “unapologetically herself.”
Ramos said Rashaun “moved to Thailand without knowing anyone, appeared on reality TV not once but twice, went skydiving on a first date with a random guy (“do it for the intrigue”) and started starting her own business when she was little.

“Have your annual doctor’s appointments,” Rashaun said. “Don’t be afraid to go get your annual exam. If something doesn’t feel right, stand up for yourself and continue to figure out what it is, because you don’t want to find yourself in a space where it might be too late.”
Rashaun announced on February 27 that she had married Kyle Rehn.
