Before the launch of each new Galaxy S series, rumors and reports often emerge as to whether Samsung will use its in-house Exynos chipsets or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. The upcoming Galaxy S27 series is no exception.
So far, most reports claim that Samsung will equip the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Pro with the Exynos 2700, while reserving Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme for the Galaxy S27 Ultra. This is what would be expected at least for the European and South Korean markets. Now, another report supports these claims.
On X, popular tipster Ice universe claims that there is no sign of Samsung equipping the Galaxy S27 Ultra with the Exynos 2700 in Europe. However, the situation in South Korea remains unclear. In other words, Samsung appears to be considering using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset for the Galaxy S27 Ultra in Europe.
That said, Samsung using the Exynos 2700 in one of the Galaxy S27 models wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, as its Exynos processors have improved significantly over the years.
In fact, the Exynos 2700 reportedly outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme in performance tests. Meanwhile, the Exynos 2600 showed itself as one of the most power-efficient processors in several tests.
