Scarborough calls out Trump’s ‘lies’ about Kansas Democrat

MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough blasted President Donald Trump for making false and misleading statements about Kansas Democratic Senate candidate Adam Hamilton during a rally for Republican Sen. Roger Marshall on Monday, asking how “stupid” the president thought his supporters were.

Trump attacked Hamilton, the senior pastor of Church of the Resurrection, the nation’s largest United Methodist congregation. He said Hamilton supports “flooding Kansas with unchecked refugees,” that the pastor “openly mocks Jesus” and accused him of using church money to fund “anti-religious transgender activities.”

“Everything you said was a lie,” Scarborough said Tuesday on “Morning Joe,” after airing a clip of Trump’s remarks. A fact check by the Kansas City Star found that Hamilton does not support open borders and said “dangerous criminals have no place here.” Hamilton also told ABC News earlier this month that he believes there are two genders while criticizing Trump for making transgender people a political target: “The president has taken a group of people who represent a tiny minority of people who are bullied and harassed and harassed, and he tried to make it a campaign issue.” »

Scarborough called it “deeply offensive” for Trump to attack “the pastor of the largest Methodist church in America, who preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

“If you listen to his sermons, this is what he does, which is the antithesis of what Donald Trump does every day when he lies about people, when he is angry, when he attacks others – not for political reasons, but just attacks them personally and spreads lies,” he added.
