Shane Gillis’ Ex-Girlfriend Throws Shade Over ‘SNL’ Comedian’s Monologue About Women Who Hit the Gym

Shane Gillis’ ex-girlfriend Grace Brassel shaded the “Saturday Night Live” comedian’s monologue about women who hit the gym.

Brassel reposted a video of Dan Levy ripping Gillis for his “misogynistic” joke to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, before writing “ANYWAY…y’all need anything from the store?”

She continued the shade by sharing a gym selfie with the caption “fitcheck!” according to the Big Lead.

Additionally, Brassel took to Instagram on Wednesday to show off her gym routine and wrote above the video: “Full body workout for my hoes.”

The exes notably confirmed their relationship in July 2024 and quietly separated about a year later.

While hosting the NBC show on Saturday, Gillis, 38, faced backlash for his description of women who go to the gym during his monologue.

“I haven’t been to the gym in so long, I didn’t realize women dress like whores now,” Gillis said. “Look, I’m sorry, there’s no other way to describe it. Did you see it, I saw it.”

He continued, “The shorts, have you seen the shorts? That neon, it’s like an artificial bait color. The wrinkles go around the cheeks and all combine at the asshole.”

The unfortunate joke was criticized by Jenna Bush Hager, Kathy Griffin, Levy and several “SNL” alums.

“It perpetuates what’s happening in our culture where people comment ad nauseam on women’s appearance…and that’s not acceptable,” Bush Hager said on Tuesday’s episode of “Today With Jenna & Sheinelle.”

Griffin exclusively told Page Six that Gillis is part of a group of men from the “TikTok or podcast world” who “all look like they can’t get laid.”

“They all tell the same jokes…and they tell these jokes about women that are from 100 years ago, like women should be in the kitchen and be quiet and all these other things,” she told us.

Cecily Strong took a similar approach to Brassel by posting herself working out with a questionable legend.

Many celebrities criticized the actor (pictured on “SNL”) for his monologue, including Jenna Bush Hager, Kathy Griffin and several “SNL” alums.

“Heading to Pilates with my new orange shoes and rainbow socks,” Strong wrote in an Instagram Stories post on Wednesday, showing off her workout outfit.

“May sell sex along the way, I’m not sure,” she added.

Gillis, who was initially added as a cast member on “SNL” in 2019 before being fired five days later, has yet to respond to the review.
